How a report actually happens

  1. 1

    Connect the car

You authorise a secure over-the-air connection to your Tesla. No hardware, no dongle, no service centre visit.

  2. 2

    Diagnostics run

Electrify Europe's platform reads the car through the manufacturer's official diagnostic environment and analyses 30 days of battery and performance history. Automated end to end, and it does not change your car's software or settings.

  3. 3

    Report delivered

A digital report lands in under 24 hours, carrying a certificate ID a buyer can quote back.

  4. 4

    Validity window

The assessment is stamped with a 30 day expiry. If it is going into a listing, time the purchase accordingly.

What a battery health report is for

Your Tesla shows you an estimated range and leaves it there. That figure moves with temperature, wheel size and how you have been driving, so it tells you very little about the pack itself.

State of health is the number underneath. It compares the usable capacity your battery has today against what it had leaving the factory, as a percentage. That is the figure a buyer wants, the figure that decides what a used Tesla is worth, and the one Tesla does not hand you in the app.

Most people buy one for a reason. Selling, and wanting proof the pack is fine. Buying used, and not wanting to take a stranger's word for it. Or three years in, wondering whether the range you have lost is normal.

Three reports, three depths

Standard is the cheapest way to get a defensible SoH figure, with capacity, estimated range and battery status alongside it.

Advanced brings in condition and behaviour. Cell balance catches a pack drifting out of line. Moisture detection flags water where there should be none. Fast charge percentage and average charge limit show how the car has actually been treated, which is the thing a used listing never tells you.

Complete is billed as a Battery Intelligence Report and adds cell voltage spread, energy consumption, charging, motor integrity, internal motor leakage and cell degradation. ZEVA marks it as the popular one. All three are one-time purchases rather than a subscription, priced in euros.

The over-the-air part

Nothing goes in the OBD port. Electrify Europe's platform connects to the car remotely through the manufacturer's official diagnostic environment, pulls the technical data automatically and compiles it into a structured report. Electrify states the process is fully remote and does not modify your vehicle's software or settings.

It reads 30 days of history rather than one snapshot. That matters more than it sounds. A single reading taken on a cold morning after a fast charge will flatter or damn a pack for reasons that have nothing to do with its health. A month of data will not.

The report comes back with a certificate ID and a 30 day validity window. If it is going to a buyer, buy it near the listing rather than months ahead.

Which cars

Tesla. ZEVA and Electrify Europe announced the partnership in June 2026 with Tesla at launch and said other battery-electric makes would follow. We have not seen a published list of what has been added since, so if you drive something else, check the supported models question on their site before paying.

ZEVA also sells a fleet version for operators running several Teslas. Different product, pricing not public.

FAQ

Questions about the ZEVA deal

What is the ZEVA promo code?

EVWIRE15. Enter it at checkout on the ZEVA battery health report page and it takes 15% off. ZEVA gave us the code for EVwire readers.

How much does a ZEVA battery health report cost?

There are three one-time options. Standard is €39.99, Advanced is €59.99 and Complete is €89.99, each per report. Code EVWIRE15 brings 15% off.

Do I need a dongle or an OBD adapter?

No. The diagnostic runs over the air. Electrify Europe's platform connects to the car remotely through the manufacturer's official diagnostic environment, so there is nothing to plug in and no service centre appointment to book.

How long does the report take?

Under 24 hours from request to delivery.

Which electric cars are supported?

Tesla. The service launched on Tesla in June 2026 and ZEVA and Electrify said coverage would widen to other battery-electric makes. Check the supported models question on their own site for the current list before buying.

Why not just look at my estimated range?

Because estimated range is derived. It shifts with temperature, wheel size and driving style, and it can read differently on two consecutive mornings. State of health measures usable capacity now against original capacity, which is why it is the figure that holds up in a sale.

What does the report show beyond a percentage?

Standard covers state of health, battery capacity, estimated range and battery status. Advanced adds fast charge percentage, average charge limit, battery temperature, moisture detection and cell balance. Complete adds cell voltage spread, energy consumption, charging, motor integrity, internal motor leakage and battery cell degradation.

Is a remote diagnostic safe for the car?

Electrify states the process is fully remote, automated and does not modify your vehicle's software or settings. Nothing is installed and nothing is written to the car. It reads data and compiles a report.

Can I use the report when selling my Tesla?

That is the main reason people buy one. It arrives with a certificate ID and a 30 day validity window, so a buyer can see the assessment is current. Buy it close to when you list rather than well in advance.

Is there a version for fleets?

Yes. ZEVA sells fleet battery health reports for operators running several Teslas, aimed at monitoring risk, maintenance and residual value across a group. It is a separate product from the one-time consumer report and the pricing is not published.
